Reiki, pronounced ray-key, is made up from two Japanese words; Rei means “Higher Power” and Ki which means “life force energy” and translates as “spiritually guided life force energy”. Reiki is indeed spiritual in nature but there is no belief system or religion attached.
We are all made up of energy which flows through us and is the source of us being alive. If our ‘life force energy’ becomes low, we succumb to stress and illness; if it is high, we are healthy and happy.
The treatment is performed fully clothed and the therapist becomes a channel for this life force energy, which is drawn and absorbed to the areas of the body most in need. A treatment feels like a warm, radiant glow which passes through and around the body causing deep relaxation and realigns the body and mind. Reiki treats the whole person, both physically and emotionally bringing about a feeling of peace, relaxation, security and well-being.
Helpful for: Relaxation, depression and anxiety, pain management, improve confidence/self esteem and promotes well-being, bereavement and loss, helps with the recovery after surgery or side effects from chemotherapy and radiation
