Treatment aims focus on pain, mobility and/or, postural problems in order to enable clients return to full functionality, regardless of their age, gender, sport or ability. The massage focuses on specific areas of the body where the muscles and soft tissue are manipulated using firm and vigorous massage techniques including trigger point therapy, stretching, pin and pull techniques as well as myofascial release.
Who Needs Sports Massage?
Clients may include professional and amateur sportspeople, people who keep fit for fun, and accident victims. Assessments are made of the client’s readiness to return to their chosen activity or occupation, deciding whether clients need extra treatments and coordinating referrals to other practitioners.
Regular sports massages before and after exercise may help to enhance performance, prevent injury and aid recovery. This therapy is not just designed for the sports person but can be beneficial for everyone.
